The Sad Truth of Life in Obama’s America

In Obama’s America 2009, you watched your once very successful construction business start to dwindle away.  The wealthy people you once called your clients are battening down the hatches, sensing economic trouble on the horizon.  They are not so eager to part with their funds for luxury homes or unnecessary remodeling.  If they do need something done, they go to the illegal labor which has now permeated the construction industry in California.  They would rather pay a fraction of the price and take a gamble on quality and precision with an unlicensed, uninsured, undocumented alien who they can pay cash under the table to.  This leaves law-abiding, tax-paying, licensed, insured and bonded craftsmen out of business.

In Obama’s America 2010, you find your once extremely comfortable lifestyle drastically changing.  You have now been out of work for six months.  There are no big jobs to be had anywhere.  Maybe the odd minor fence repair or someone deciding to throw caution to the wind and splurge on a bit of luxurious crown moulding in their guest bath, but the big work is a thing of the past.  You knew things were headed in this direction once B.O. was voted in.  You didn’t vote for him because you knew what the Left’s policies do to our economy and the middle class.

In Obama’s America, 2011, after one year of no work, living off of savings to support your family of four, you have gone through nearly all resources.  You pull into your driveway one day after picking your oldest child up from school.  As you get out of the car, you see two strange men walking up your driveway.  They inform you that your house has just been auctioned off on the courthouse steps and this Korean man who barely speaks English is the new owner of your family home.  The Caucasian man with him is the local realtor who is handling all local foreclosures and  property procurement for this Korean company that has come in to buy everything up.  You have two weeks to get out.  You stand in your driveway, holding  your 3 1/2 year old, tears streaming down  your face.  You look up at your home that holds so many memories.  Marriage, babies, good times and the rough times of this past two years….  You didn’t know your house was on the block.  Yes, you knew it was dire.  You’d been haggling with the mortgage company for months and months, trying to get approved for help to save your family home, but nobody ever told you about the auction.

Two weeks later in Obama’s America, you find yourself physically exhausted and emotionally drained.  God has seen your family through and miraculously provided a beautiful home for you to lease, funds arranged to do so.  You feel reassured that  God is there, watching over your family and through all of this trauma, you feel closer to God than ever before.

2015 in Obama’s America sees you in the same leased house, living contentedly.  It’s been up and down with your construction business, but for the most part, God has provided plenty and your family is safe.

Of course, you did lose your health insurance in 2014 when the premium rose to $2100 per month for your family of four.  You don’t qualify for any “subsidies”, even if you wanted them.  You live in constant worry about health issues, trying to figure out how to get some type of coverage for your family.  Working six days a week (when it’s available), trying to build back some of what you’ve lost.  Grateful for the food on the table, the lovely roof over your heads and the little blessings along the way.

One day in Obama’s America you receive a letter from the owner of your leased home.  They have decided that due to the rise in the housing market, they are raising your rent by 52%.  They’d love to have you stay, but they do realize that a rent increase from $2900 per month to $4400 per month is quite a jump.  Please do call if you have any questions.  This will be in effect at the end of April.  Have a nice day.

Shortly after this news, you are faced with your son injuring his knee and the dreaded anticipation of this moment hits you between the eyes.  No insurance.

With one child on physical crutches and your psyche on emotional crutches, you scour the ads, desperately trying to find a suitable home for your family.  Now you see why you’ve 5received the huge rent increase.  The rents are astronomical.  $3500 a month for a dump.  Will you be reduced to jamming your family into a 1000 square foot apartment?  How much farther can you fall?

You stand in the midst of it all wondering what happened?  What the hell happened here?  Where did the very comfortable upper middle class lifestyle go?  Not having to ever worry about how much money was in the bank, not even checking the balance before going to buy something.  Vacationing in Europe.  What happened?  Obama happened.  The push of the Progressive Left happened.  Their pathetic policies and their ultimate destruction of the middle class happened.

Standing in your living room, talking with the owners of your leased home, you are suddenly very aware that this country has become one of the “HAVES and the HAVE NOTS”.  There is no in between anymore.  The owners of your home, who had their last vacation via chartered yacht in the South of France, are so very sorry to raise the rent, but they do have college for their kids to think about.  You nod your head as you glance over to the couch and see your child with an injured knee and just wish you only had to worry about his college education or his summer in France, instead of wondering how you were going to pay for the medical care he requires.  A lump rises in your throat and you are suddenly very aware of the huge divide.  The massive gap.  The unfairness of the ruling class and their sickening goal to destroy America and her people.

Life has changed greatly in Obama’s America.  Many ask why I do what I do with Sister Patriot.  “Why do you waste so much time with that?”  I do it because this is my country.  And the scenario above is my life.  I used to be ashamed to admit any of it, but if I can’t be completely truthful, I shouldn’t be doing what I’m doing.  I am not ashamed anymore.  This is life and this is life in Obama’s America, where we tragically find ourselves today.  We aren’t the only ones.  So, if my story helps anyone reading this, it was worth divulging.  Life does not look the same as it did 10 years ago.  Will  it get better?  I just do not know.  I do know that we have to do our part in trying to make it better.  Speak up for what is right, fight the good fight and above all, put your trust in God because He WILL see us all through.  ~~Sister Patriot
