I’m sure at one point or another in your life, you’ve leased a home. Maybe you’re leasing right now. Do you remember the process of going about renting a house? Are you someone who owns a property that you rent out to a tenant? How concerned are you about who you rent to? Do you want to make sure that they’re a good person before turning over the keys? Do you want to know that they’re telling the truth on their application? Are they possibly going to damage your home and disappear in the middle of the night, owing you money, never to be heard from again? If you’ve rented, you know just how much you have to go through to secure a home for your family. You have applications to fill out, you need to provide recommendations from past landlords, character references from acquaintances and friends. You need to prove you are who you say you are. You must show a good, clean rental history. You need to answer additional questions from your prospective landlord. Don’t forget providing proof to verify your income. If all goes well, you find yourself now leasing a house or apartment, but it doesn’t end there. You are held accountable. You must pay your rent on time. No excuses. You need to take care of the property and be a responsible tenant. You must fulfill the promises you’ve made to your new landlord. If you’ve rented, you know what I’m talking about. If you’re a landlord, you too understand what I’m saying. Now. How much effort, research, concern and time goes into this process? What does it mean to you if your tenant turns out to be a flake or deadbeat? How does it affect you if they don’t pay their rent or damage your property?
How much effort do people put into selecting who will run our country? You are essentially signing a 4 year lease with the person you elect as President. Some are so complacent about that process, but if they were to select a person to sign a 4 year lease on their house or apartment (or even a 6 mo lease), would they accept these answers?
“Well, I can’t show you my paycheck stubs because I’ve had my records sealed.”
“I’m really perfect for this home & I’m a great person, but I don’t have any proof to show you because it’s all been covered up. You will just have to take my word for it.”
What landlord would buy that? And yet, so many Americans eagerly handed B.O. the keys to the White House anyway. I dare say some were tougher on their prospective tenants when it came to renting out a property.
You see where I’m going with this. So, let me ask you… How does it affect you when your country is so in debt that your grandchildren will still be saddled with it when they are adults? How does it affect you that your country isn’t as safe as it used to be & is becoming more dangerous by the day? How will it affect you when the person running your country finally moves out of your residence and the whole country is destroyed?
The complacency has to end. We all have a say in who we elect to run our home. Our country. Time to start holding people accountable for their past and present. It is far too critical to take so frivolously. ~~Sister Patriot
